Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Booking and pickup
Can I rent same-day?
Yes, if a trailer is available on the calendar. Same-day bookings still go through the same checkout flow (e-sign agreement, upload license and insurance, pay). Have those handy and you can be on the road in 30 minutes.
How far in advance can I book?
Up to 90 days out. Weekends and holidays book first, so reserve early if you have a specific date in mind.
What if I'm running late to pick up?
Call us at (210) 338-0883. We hold your trailer for 4 hours past your pickup time; after that it's considered a no-show.
Tow vehicle
Will my truck pull this trailer?
Each trailer's product page lists the minimum tow capacity, hitch class, and ball size. Compare those numbers to your truck's manual or door-jamb sticker. If you're close to the limit, call us — we'll talk through it.
Do I need a brake controller?
Yes. Our tandem-axle utility and stock trailers have electric brakes. Your tow vehicle needs a working brake controller and a 7-pin connector. We check at pickup.
Can I borrow a hitch ball?
You can rent one with your booking (2" or 2-5/16"). Add it at checkout.
Money
How does the damage deposit work?
The damage deposit is charged at pickup as a separate line on your order. If the trailer comes back in good shape, we refund it within 5 business days of return.
What happens if there's damage?
If you bought the Damage Protection Waiver, your max out-of-pocket on accidental damage is $500. If you didn't, you're responsible for the actual repair cost. Either way, we document everything with photos at pickup and return.
Are there mileage limits?
No. All rentals are unlimited mileage within our service area.
Do you take a credit card or debit card?
Credit card preferred (for the deposit hold). Debit cards work but holds may take longer to release.
Insurance
Does my auto insurance cover the trailer?
Usually yes, for liability while you're towing it. Coverage for damage to the trailer itself varies by policy — check with your insurer. The optional Damage Protection Waiver covers what your policy may not.
Do I need commercial insurance?
No, personal auto insurance is fine if you're not hauling for hire. If you are using the trailer commercially, you may need commercial coverage — ask your agent.
Stock trailer questions
How many animals fit?
Approximate capacities are listed on each stock trailer's product page. For our 16-foot Calico stock trailer, that's about 4 adult cows, 6 weaned calves, or 3 horses. Don't overload — it's bad for the animals and dangerous to tow.
Do I need to clean it before returning?
Yes. Stock trailers must be returned washed out and disinfected, or a $150 cleaning fee applies. Livestock biosecurity is a real thing.
Can I take it across state lines?
You can, but you're responsible for any required livestock health papers (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) and brand inspections.
Other
Can someone else pick up the trailer for me?
No. The named renter must be the person picking up and driving. No exceptions.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes, if the trailer is available. Call us as soon as you know — don't just keep it longer than scheduled.
